Why this page looks thin
The disclosure list that most Italian websites carry comes from Art. 7 of Decreto Legislativo 9 aprile 2003, n. 70. That article binds a prestatore — someone providing an "information society service", which Art. 2(1)(a) of the same decree defines as "le attività economiche svolte in linea", economic activities carried out online.
Two of the entries in that list are also expressly conditional. The VAT number is only required "qualora il prestatore eserciti un'attività soggetta ad imposta" — where a taxable activity is carried out. The register number presupposes a registration that does not exist here.
Whether a pre-launch page that advertises a future commercial platform already counts as an economic activity is a genuine question, not a settled one. The identity and contact details above are given regardless, because Art. 13(1)(a) GDPR requires the controller to be identifiable whenever personal data is collected — and this site collects email addresses.
One thing makes the "no economic activity" reading weaker here than it would be for one person alone: BCKDOOR is run by several people together. Under Italian law a group that jointly carries on an economic activity can be classified as a società di fatto without ever founding or registering anything — and Art. 2297 of the Codice Civile attaches unlimited joint and several personal liability to the participants of an unregistered partnership.

This disclosure is voluntary. Art. 50(4) of the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689) requires a deployer to disclose AI-generated images only where they constitute a deep fake — which Art. 3(60) defines as content resembling existing persons, objects, places or events that "would falsely appear to a person to be authentic or truthful". A stylised halftone illustration is neither. We say it anyway, because the alternative is letting people assume otherwise.
